VMCC’s Festival of 1000 Bikes returns to Mallory Park in July

by

After repeated requests from its members and the motorcycling fraternity at large, the Vintage Motor Cycle Club has announced the return of one of the best motorcycling events in Europe, the VMCC Festival of 1000 Bikes combined with the Mallory Bonanza, at Mallory Park over the weekend of July 6-8, 2018.

The event will be run to exactly the same format as before, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to ride their own machines in multiple track sessions over the long weekend.

To reflect the wide range of interests within the VMCC, it will cater for all classes of machine, from the earliest veterans to those from the superbike era.

Public track sessions for road bikes will take place on the Saturday, with sessions for race bikes on the Sunday, and the event will also feature pre-65 trials and historic grass track demonstrations, an Avenue of Clubs which attracted 50 clubs in 2008, trade stands and an autojumble.

The bar marquee, with panoramic views of the Stebbe straight, will be open and live bands will be on stage from Friday, July 6.

More details will be released over the coming weeks, but as the track sessions for both road and racing bikes sold out in all the previous years, the VMCC will have entry forms available to download from the website this month (December).

The VMCC headquarters can also be contacted directly at Allen House, Wetmore Road, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1TR or visit the club’s dedicated website at www.vmcc.net for details.
