With the current explosion in interest in pseudo-off road styled motorcycles such as the Scramblers built by both Triumph and Ducati, and the ‘soft-roaders’ produced by just about every manufacturer (including Harley-Davidson!), it was only a matter of time before one of them put their money where their mouth is, and actually started racing one.

We’re not talking about the Dakar racer machines built by factories such as KTM and Honda, but of the retro-styled bikes that owe their design, and heritage, to the bikes being built in the Sixties and Seventies – the sort of machines that everyone who has seen On Any Sunday yearns for in the hours after watching the film…
