The Ariel team that ruled the world

Surely the Ariel factory trials team from 1960 must be the only one whose riders still get together regularly, and remain good mates, after almost 60 years!

At last, Ron Langston gets the chance to try out the sleek, fully faired 500cc Moto Guzzi V8.

Back then Ron Langston, Gordon Blakeway and Sammy Miller ruled the world, and on May 2 the trio enjoyed another great reunion at the Sammy Miller Museum in the New Forest.

Former grand prix racer Ron’s lifelong ambition to ride the 500cc Moto Guzzi V8 was realised, and the old friends tried other motorcycles from the collection as well.

On several occasions Gordon, Ron and Sammy were also members of the British International Six-Days Trial team.
