Sunbeam Club's Pioneer Run hits 77 not out

On his way to winning the Laurie Fenton Trophy for the greatest age difference between rider and machine, Sam Bewley enjoys the run on a 1914 Wall Autowheel.

It would become the largest gathering of pioneer motorcycles in the world, and every machine taking part in this year’s 77th event on Sunday, March 20 was over 100 years old. Old Bike Mart is grateful to Ian McGill and Ian Kerr (who also took the accompanying photos) for this report:

The annual event now starts on Epsom Downs and attracts riders and machines from all over Europe, but it still finishes on Brighton’s famous Madeira Drive.
