It is feared that new ‘anti-tampering’ rules may even result in a ban on machines over seven years old being used in urban areas.

An e-petition opposing the draft legislation has been set up on the Government’s website. Make your voice heard!

Both old and new machines will be welcomed at the Velocette Owners’ Club’s May Day Show, which takes place at the village hall in Ham Street, near Ashford, Kent, on May 7, starting at 10am.

Riders are invited to take along any surplus jumble and sell it for free. Tables will be supplied and hot and cold drinks and burgers will be on sale, with profits going to the Kent Air Ambulance.

Riders can leave their motorcycles parked up and enjoy a day of messing about on the river when a museum hosts a bike show at the Yorkshire Waterways Museum, Goole DN14 5TB, on Sunday, April 15, from 10am to 4pm.

Entry is by donation to the museum. Boat trips are also on offer on the day, running on the quarter past the hour. These cost £4 adult, £3 under 12 or £12 for a family ticket. The cafe will be open for light meals, snacks and drinks.
