He said: “I know nothing about it at all so it would be good if your readers can throw some light on it as it looks interesting and indicates a long lost period of history.
“I personally would love to find some detail of what was going on as it looks to be a well organised event, and not a little dangerous – I wonder how many got round the first corner? The advert on the roof indicates that it is a regular stadium for something or other, but the grass is not damaged so it was either the first ‘race’ or even a new event.”
