David Schofield from County Durham became the lucky owner of the 1990 588cc Norton F1 Rotary motorcycle that was first prize in the National Motorcycle Museum’s 2016 summer raffle when the winning ticket was drawn by road racing legends Carl Fogarty, John McGuinness and Ian Hutchinson at the NMM’s ‘Museum Live’ open day on Saturday, November 5.
Second prize, a 1951 500cc Norton ES2, went to Colin Hodgkins from Staffordshire, and the luxury classic weekend break for two people that constituted the third prize was won by Iain Gordon from Hampshire.
The amazing first prize announced by museum director James Hewing for the winter 2016 raffle will be a brand new 1200cc Triumph Thruxton R with a factory-fitted track racer kit, together worth £13,800, that will be registered new to the winner next April.
Second prize will be a 1954 500cc AJS Model 18 that’s a matching-numbers example of a practical and thoroughly usable postwar classic.
Third prize will again be a luxury classic weekend break for two.
The draw will take place on Sunday, April 23 at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at Stafford.
