Classic bikes a roaring success at Crich Tramway

by

The Classic Motorcycle Day at Crich Tramway Village near Matlock proved to be a roaring success for the third year on the trot.

The event, run by Crich Tramway Village and the Vincent HRD Owners’ Club, not only had in excess of 1800 visitors in attendance, but also attracted around 400 motorcycles built prior to 1995.

Mike Wild proved a big hit with his Rudge Multi, voted best in show.

Given the venue’s central Derbyshire location, visitors had travelled from far and wide, including riders from as far as Anglesey and Barry, in South Wales.

While the event focuses on motorcycles of greater than 15 years in age, non-classic motorcyclists were offered a special discount on entrance, giving them the opportunity to view the exhibitors’ bikes and ride on classic vintage trams.
