Charity T-shirts mark 1978 TT comeback by ‘Mike the Bike’

by

Over the past three years, sales of Wemoto’s Festival of Jurby T-shirts have raised more than £48,000 for the Manx Grand Prix Supporters’ Club.

TT legends Michael Dunlop (left) and John McGuinness show off one of the £10 T-shirts being sold in aid of the MGP Supporters’ Club.
The new T-shirt illustration shows Mike Hailwood leaping the 1978 Formula 1 TT-winning Sports Motor Cycles Ducati at Ballaugh.

Featuring Mike Hailwood on the Sports Motor Cycles Ducati, this year’s design marks the 40th anniversary of his comeback to mainstream motorcycle racing and his Formula 1 TT win on the Island.

All profits raised by the sale of the T-shirts will go to the club, a charity that helps fund the life-saving helicopter ambulances on practice and race days as well as supporting injured riders and their families and donating money to help with medical equipment.

Costing just £10 each, they are available from [email protected], and limited numbers will be also be on sale at this year’s festival.
