August issue out now!

by

Your Old Bike Mart will be available this weekend, and it’s jam-packed with great memories of the times of our lives… when the world seemed a much happier place and life was lived at a gentler pace.

Unfortunately, our early deadline for this issue and the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 has meant that plans to stage the Classic Dirt Bike Show in September at Stafford County Showground – featured on page 3 of this issue – have fallen by the wayside since OBM went to press.

It’s a shame, because the ‘Milk Tray man’ Arthur Browning was due to be a guest of honour, telling of his stunt-riding activities for the famous Cadbury TV advertisement from the 1970s. That’s the bad news… but the good news is that the show will take place in February next year at its usual Telford home, and we hope Arthur will be there to tell all!

Meanwhile, there’s plenty to enjoy in this month’s issue of Old Bike Mart. Read all about the extension to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum, revel in Pete Kelly’s latest look back at the world of motorcycling and enjoy part five of our A-Z of British motorcycles. And we’ve only got to the letter C!

So when your copy arrives, you can be forgiven for cursing Covid under your breath for causing another great show to bite the dust this year… but sit down with a cuppa and enjoy the rest of the publication. It’s what weekends were made for!
