And Cadwell still rolls on!

I have been most interested in the photos that you have been printing over the last few issues of Cadwell Park riders of the early days.

Ricky Goodman in leathers, Jim Overton centre, and the chappie on the left is not identified!

Although I can’t with any certainty put names to pictures, they certainly depict that great period when the very ordinary chap, with a bit of ingenuity, could put together a fairly competitive machine.

Ricky Goodman who, I think, shared this machine with Jim Overton.
Ricky Goodman again.

I enclose a few photos that have come into my possession, from the late Forties and the mid-Fifties.

I do also have a few of Dick Dale which you may also have heard of, and of myself when having a few rides from the mid-Fifties to mid-Sixties.

Stan Cooper on the left in deep conversation with Bob Rattom – it seems to be about more than just the weather… The machines are the Stan Cooper Specials with Triumph engines, duplex home-built frames with, at that time, Albion four-speed gear boxes. I think the chap crouched down by number 8 is Alan Belyon who rode a SCS at that time.
