Readers may be interested to recall that at the 1969 TT, an H1 was entered by Read Bros. in the Production Race, ridden by Tony Dunnell, one of the local racers in the Brighton area at that time.

In the race, Tony was looking good for the win with a healthy lead in the 500cc class on the final lap.

Unfortunately, only a few miles from the chequered flag in the area of the 33rd milestone, he fell victim to the Kwacker’s legendary evil handling, took a big tumble down the mountain and was subsequently flown unconscious to Nobles Hospital.
