What was unusual – nay, remarkable – about the A team was that the riders were all ladies. What’s more, these three women had won the International Silver Vase the previous year competing equally alongside the men. But then, “what man can do, woman can do – sometimes better,” said Marjorie Cottle. And this little lady would prove that time and time again, as John Milton reports.
